Tommy’s: saving babies’ lives

Tommy’s is the UK’s leading baby charity. It exists to save babies’ lives. The charity funds research into miscarriage, stillbirth and premature birth, and provides pregnancy health information to parents. It also believes it’s unacceptable that one in four women still loses a baby during pregnancy and birth.

Following such a loss, many parents channel their grief into something positive, in honour of their babies, and fundraising is a particularly special and meaningful way of remembering them. One such person is Sam.

Determined to raise awareness of the work done by Tommy’s, she summoned the support of her most courageous female friends, none of whom had ventured in front of a camera before. Working closely with Sam and the charity, we contrived to art direct and photograph the intrepid amateur models in a day: and so the ‘charity calendar with legs’ was born.
